Navigating Public Health: with Søren Brostrøm, From Denmark’s COVID-19 Response to WHO’s Global Challenges
We are honored to have Søren Brostrøm as our keynote speaker for this event. Mr. Brostrøm has had a distinguished career in the field of public health, significantly influencing both Danish and international healthcare policies.
Previously, Søren Brostrøm served as the Director-General of the Danish Health Authorities, where he played a pivotal role in shaping Denmark’s health policies, guidelines, and regulations. Especially under the COVID-19 pandemic he was massively publicly exposed and became synonymous with professional credibility and public trust.
Since August this year, Mr. Brostrøm has transitioned to an international role as the Senior Advisor to the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Mr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. Here he has joined the leadership team under the Director-General and he will among other things be responsible for implementing the organizational reform process of WHO.
Mr. Brostrøm will in his presentation focus on why Denmark did so well during the COVID-19. He will elaborate on factors such as high trust in society, high digital maturity, a relatively strong healthcare system, a strong economy, etc. At the same time, he will give an insight into his current role at WHO and the challenges included.
